On 27th October, the Port of San Sebastián de La Gomera proudly welcomed the exclusive cruise ship Hanseatic Spirit on its maiden call, carrying 131 passengers and 166 crew members.
Delivered in 2021 by Vard Holdings, this expedition-class vessel, owned by Hapag Lloyd, is designed for Arctic, Antarctic, and warm-water expeditions, including the Amazon. Featuring a reinforced hull and the highest PC6 polar classification, Hanseatic Spirit joins its sister ships, Hanseatic Nature and Hanseatic Inspiration, in pioneering expedition cruising.
During a commemorative plaque exchange ceremony on the bridge, the Captain, Claas Manuelfisher, was joined by Mr. Salvador Méndez, Head of La Palma Port Area, and Mrs. Patricia Padilla from Hamilton Ship Agency. This ceremony marked the first call of this remarkable vessel to the port, reflecting the port’s commitment to welcoming high-calibre cruise operations.
The Port Authority extends its gratitude to the Captain, crew, and Hamilton Ship Agency for their hospitality and seamless coordination.
