Saga Cruises has launched multiple new cruises in Winter 2026, with every port now including an excursion.
El Cuervo Volcano trekking, stargazing in La Palma and carnivals in Funchal and Tenerife are all part of the Saga Cruises experiences for 2026.
Included in the line-up will be a special homecoming cruise to Croatia, designed by Saga’s own ship’s captain, Captain Franko Papic, two Mediterranean cruises, one Northern Lights Cruise, a carnival cruise and cruises round the seven Canary Islands.
“Our 2026 Saga Cruise journeys now offer an excursion in every port – with a wider range of experiences to suit varying tastes,” says Nigel Blanks, CEO at Saga Cruises.
“And because there are different levels of activity, it changes the way passengers can engage with their destination. For every sightseeing trip, there’s an offer of a little bit more, that gives a glimpse beyond the usual postcard vistas.”
Expanding on its new and inclusive proposition, it has continued the winter season in the Canaries and added in various new itineraries.
New experiences in the Canaries include:
● Mount Teide by cable car in Tenerife
● Star gazing in La Palma
● El Cuervo Volcano trek and sea trekking in Arrecife
● Submarine adventure in Las Palmas
● Catamaran cruise to Lobos Island, a national park, from Fuerteventura
● Carnivals in Funchal and Tenerife
Captain Franko Papic’s Homecoming Cruise:
● A unique cruise designed by the Captain, visiting some fabulous ports in Croatia, including overnights in Dubrovnik and Rijeka.
● New ports include Opatija, Krk Island & Rijeka (last visited in 2017)
● Standout experiences include Plitvice Lakes, Skadar Lake and Krka National Park
● Please see here for the full itinerary
Aligning with the ocean cruise ship names, Spirit of Adventure and Spirit of Discovery, the 2026 Winter launch is true to Saga’s experiential vision.
