In February 2025, AIDA Cruises will launch the largest fleet modernization program in the company’s history as part of its AIDA Evolution future initiative.
AIDAdiva will be the first ship to go to the Chantier Naval shipyard in Marseille, France. During the seven-week dry dock overhaul from February 3 to March 22, 2025, the focus will be on improved ship technology and even more experience, service and comfort.
Aboard the modernized AIDAdiva, guests can expect an even greater variety of restaurants and bars with even more service. A total of eight restaurants and 15 bars and cafés serve specialties from national and international cuisines and bars. In addition to the familiar venues, the modernization will add some new favorites.
These are the new restaurants and bars!
The new Yacht Club Restaurant offers dining in a maritime atmosphere. The menu ranges from light seasonal cuisine to a variety of international specialties. The outdoor area not only invites you to dine al fresco, but also houses the new Lanai Bar with a varied menu ranging from AIDA Spritz to sundowners.
With the modernization, the French Kiss Restaurant on Deck 11 will make its debut on AIDAdiva. Here you can dine like God in France. From the finest steak tartar to selected cheeses and masterpieces of French pastry, the French Kiss has everything a gourmet could desire.
The culinary lane on Deck 11 now includes an Asian restaurant. Hot and cold sushi and dim sum are served under cherry trees. In addition to lunch and dinner, a small Asian breakfast is also served for explorers and lovers of Asian cuisine, including specialties such as Japanese okonomiyaki. Fittingly, the new Tokyo Bar with signature Asian drinks will follow.
Around the distinctive Theatrium, the French Kiss Bar & Bistro will serve French specialties and snacks on deck 10. On deck 11, an Ice Bar will offer delicious cool creations and waffles.
The Theatrium’s new Tapas & Bar on Deck 9 serves hot and cold tapas, wines, sherries and Spanish beers.
The new Panorama Lounge & Bar on Deck 10 at the bow of AIDAdiva promises an exclusive captain’s view with signature drinks and classics for all guests.
The redesigned Ocean Club on Deck 12 is a new place for teens during the day and for night owls to enjoy music and dancing into the wee hours of the morning.
Of course, classics such as the Market Restaurant, the Buffalo Steak House, the Gourmet Restaurant Rossini and the Almhütte will continue to exist and will also be gently modernized during the dry dock period.
Summer Program 2025: Italy & Malta and Baltic Sea & Norway
After her dry dock overhaul, AIDAdiva will depart from Rome/Civitavecchia on three itineraries to Italy and Malta starting on March 23, 2025. Destinations include Valletta, Siracusa or Catania, Palermo, Naples and Olbia. AIDAdiva will then head to its summer cruising area: from Rostock / Warnemünde, the most beautiful destinations on the Baltic Sea and in Norway will be offered.
XXL Adventure: World Tour 2025/2026
From November 10, 2025 to March 23, 2026, the cruise ship AIDAdiva will embark on its first world tour packed with unique highlights. At 133 days, this XXL adventure will be the longest voyage around the world in the company’s history. From Hamburg, the route will take the ship to five continents and through 27 countries. For the first time on an AIDA World Cruise, the east and west coasts of the USA and Japan will be on the itinerary. Another highlight: New Year’s Eve will be celebrated in Hawaii! 55 ports will be visited – that’s more than ever before.
Setting new standards in ship design
The ships of the Sphinx series will be commissioned between 2007 and 2013. With their innovative, open space concept and design, they have been instrumental in creating the unique AIDA feeling. After AIDAdiva, AIDAluna and AIDAbella will be modernized in the fall of 2025 and spring of 2026, respectively.
